Passport Advice Line
0870 521 0410 (24 hours a day, 7 days a week)
Website: Passport Advice Line
This national advice line provides a single point of contact for all telephone callers and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The call centre staff are available to:
- Answer all straight forward enquiries.
- Make an appointment for you to call at one of the passport offices, should you need your passport in less than two weeks.
- Transfer calls to specialists at the Passport Service regional offices if your questions are complex and require a trained passport examiner to provide an answer.
Passport Lost, Stolen or Damaged
If you are applying for a passport in order to replace one that has been lost, stolen or damaged, please bear in mind that, for security reasons, it will be treated as a first time application and carry out additional checks that will require you to provide supporting documentation, e.g. birth certificate etc. As such, replacements take longer to deal with than straightforward renewals. You must allow at least one week for the replacement of a passport that has been lost, stolen or damaged. The Premium (same day) service is not available for these applications. However, if you are travelling urgently, you will be able to use a one-week Fast Track service.
Travelling Within 2 Weeks
You will need to make a personal application at one of their offices, and use either the Premium or Fast Track services. There are additional fees for these services. You must make an appointment before calling at one of the offices. Call the Passport Adviceline on 0870 521 0410 to make your appointment. If someone is collecting your passport for you, they must have a signed letter of authorisation from you. If the passport is for a child, the letter of authorisation must be signed by the person who has signed Section 09 of the form.
Travelling to the USA?
With effect from 01 October 2003, all passengers intending to enter the USA on the Visa Waiver Programme (VWP) will be required to present a machine-readable passport (MRP).
Passengers travelling to the USA with a non-machine readable passport will require a valid US entry visa, even if they are citizens of a country within the Visa Waiver Programme (VWP). Children travelling on a parent's passport (be it machine readable or non-machine readable) cannot benefit from the Visa Waiver Programme.
Applying for a US visa is a lengthy process that can take several weeks. It is therefore strongly recommended that:
- All Visa Waiver nationals who hold a non-machine readable passport should obtain a machine-readable passport before their next visit to the USA.
- Children travelling on their parent's passport should obtain their own machine- readable passport prior to travelling to the USA.

Unless legally obliged, we will never disclose your information to any third party without your prior consent.
The Information We Collect
In order to process your booking and to ensure that your travel arrangements run smoothly, and in accordance with your requirements, we need to use the information that you provide and pass this on to the relevant suppliers such as airlines, hotels and transport companies.
This information may include your name, address, age and any special needs/disabilities/dietary requirements.
Additionally, where your holiday is outside the European Economic Area (EEA), controls on data protection in your destination may not be as strong as the legal requirements in this country. We will not, however pass any information onto any person not responsible for part of your travel arrangements.
This applies to any sensitive information that you give us such as details of any disabilities, or dietary/religious requirements.

APIS (Advanced Passenger Information System)
Various countries require airlines to collect Advance Passenger Information for passengers prior to travel.
In order to ensure that your check-in at the airport is as smooth as possible and to avoid any additional queues, you are strongly advised to provide this information for ALL passengers (excluding infants) for each booking before going to the airport.
It is essential that the information provided is accurate so that you do not have any delay when you pass through Immigration on arrival in these countries.
What is APIS? APIS stands for Advanced Passenger Information System. Many countries, including the USA, require that airlines must provide various details about each customer. In some cases, aircraft will not be able to land if they have passengers onboard where these details have not been provided in advance. Currently, APIS data needs to be provided for customers travelling to or in transit to the following countries: USA, UAE, China (except Hong Kong), Thailand, Spain and Jamaica.
APIS Information Required Letsgo2 will need to collect the following passport information and store this in your booking in advance of you arriving at the airport:
- Passport number.
- Country of Issue.
- Country of Citizenship.
- Date of Birth.
- Sex.
- Expiry of passport.
- Name in passport (must be same name as issued on the ticket).
NOTE: For customers travelling to or transiting the USA, we also require
- Country of residence.
- City of residence.
- The address of your first night's accommodation in the USA including full postal/ZIP code.
Customers that do not provide this information may be denied boarding at the airport.
What happens to the information?
Once the information is entered into our website, it is passed directly into the airlines reservation system so the airline can pass this data on directly to the relevant immigration authorities before the flight departs. This information is not passed to any other 3rd party.
